Hi love, I’m Krystal.
I’ve always had a non-traditional approach to my career. While my peers pursued law, medicine, and engineering, I earned a four-year degree in Photography. For years, I worked in-house as a professional artist and creative strategist. Although I enjoyed the work, it never felt right that the needs of a company should take precedence over my own. I hated what felt like asking for permission to just live my life.
After a particularly misaligned job in 2018, I followed the guidance of my Design and made the leap to quit and start my first business. I had no plan, no clients, and barely enough savings to make it three months in one of the most expensive cities in America. But I knew taking a chance on myself was the only option, and I had to give myself the opportunity to try.
By following my intuition, desire, and natural energy—exactly what you’re going to learn in Conscious Business Salon—my first year as an entrepreneur, I paid myself double what I’d ever earned as an employee while doing what I loved on my terms, my time, and in my own way.
We’re often told this is the whole story, right? “I tried, it worked, and everything went happily ever after!”
But what nobody told me about getting exactly what I wanted is that it would bring up everything hidden in my body around being worthy of receiving it. And for a woman of color brought up in a household with trauma, codependency, and addiction, that was quite a lot.
Regardless of all that it brought up, I fell in love with business and pretty soon after my first year’s success began coaching other creatives to do what I’d done. As I spent the next chunk of my life building multiple businesses as a solopreneur, I also lived, studied, and coached on the question: why is it so sticky to let ourselves have what we truly want?
Six years, three courses of study, and hundreds of clients later, I know the answer. And I’ve built a coaching practice around supporting female entrepreneurs as they navigate this, rise from the ick of resistance, and build businesses that truly match who they are and what their soul craves.
